Hello hivers! How was your dinner every night? Are you having a simple one or a challenging one? Tonight my husband and I decided to have grilled fish for dinner since we missed eating grilled fish and grilled are healthier than fried one. So he went to a nearby fish store and bought one fish. It is so big and it's more than enough for the four of us.
We don't have a grilling pan or grilling area inside our house so went to our backyard and he started the fire. I love the beauty of the fire and that's when I started capturing its moments. It feels like waving me and I can't turn my eyes from it watching every glimpse of it until it turns dark.
After the fire turns off, it's about blowing and creating wind in order to make the charcoal creates little red fire. And my kids foot is touching the grills because he is too playful and always wanted to help.
Like we used to, if we don't have a real grilling pad we use banana leaves. We lit it in the fire first to make the straight leaves turns curve. Then we rolled the fish inside and put the sticks on both sides to avoid it from opening when it turns hot. Then it is ready for grilling.
Then I decided to get one eggplant and I put it in the grill too. I would like to grill more but the fish was too big and I think we can't eat it all at once.
Then I fan the charcoal with carton in order to make it alive while grilling. It was fun and I love the view of the pyre. I captured some of it. It feels like the fire is playing with the charcoal. I found unusual beauty from it. It has beautiful color and I can't stop my eyes from looking at it all the time and I forgot it was so hot there.
And this is the finish product. The fish is too big. It looks like it's not cook but when we taste it it is cooked perfectly. I haven't had the chance to have some pictures while eating since we are so hungry waiting for it to finish in almost an hour
Grilled fish is one of our favorites but we can sometimes eat it because it's expensive. We have to buy the whole fish and 1 or 2 packs of charcoal. It is also too long to get cooked. It was a wonderful dinner and we're planning to have more grilling in the backyard soon, another fish or another seafood. Aside from it is delicious it is also a fun time to have small talks about today's events where he worked in the field and my chores and updates with the kids here at home.
That's all for tonight hivers. I hope you are having a great dinner together each of your family. Whether it is simple and expensive as long as you are all happy it's more than a dinner. See you next time hivers. Have a blessed weekend!

I really love grilled bangus, especially when spices are added inside the bangus. What I like the most is the belly portion because that's where the fat of the bangus is, it's so tempting.
yeah that is my favorite part too
Grilling meat or fish is somewhat common for us especially on weekends. It's also like a weekend bonding after some days busy working and feeling just tired in the evening. Wrapping the fish with banana leaf, yes the traditional day and very natural, not like using foil which can be unhealthy. Grilling eggplant before making it into salad or eggplant omelet is best too.
hahaha banana leaves if there is no foil, foil is expensive too, but our neighbors has lots of banana leaves, that is why. eggplant too its healthy rather than frying it.
I agree, the more natural the better, and we don't need to buy banana leaves; just ask from the neighbors heheh
Sending you Ecency curation votes.😉

Thank you so much
