Extension of party celebration and meeting husband's relatives.

Last weekend, my brother-in-law's wife celebrated her 50th birthday, and they organized a small party for Thanksgiving. Why not? In this era where the human lifespan is shortened, reaching 50 years old was indeed a blessing!

When I arrived home from attending pre-baptismal seminar, I saw chickens to be slaughtered the next day.

_{Cull chickens, which are cheaper than what we bought usually in the supermarket - 45 days. Thus, it takes time for the meat to tender.}

I asked my brother-in-law, so I have an idea since we will be preparing for Caleb's christening.

The party will be tomorrow, yet they already started slaughtering those chickens. Thankful this time, he chose to butcher the pig somewhere. NOT in front of our house.

The next day, I woke up past five in the morning to feed my son and heard movements outside. When I peeked at the window saw that they were already cooking. Yep, outside using firewood.

As much as I wanted to help, I couldn't since my baby demands cuddles and attention 24/7. So, I lend them utensils for the party.

Les, do you know how to wrap fresh lumpia? Sister-in-law asked.

Like, are you serious? Really, you're asking me? 😆. Maybe she forgot that I don't have a talent for such.

Of course, a Filipino party would only be complete with the Letchon - roasted pig!

When the party started, I wasn't there, so no photos of the food as there were already some visitors. When I felt starving, I got some food and went back to our house. (Their house is next to us, just four steps away.)

My plate! Yeah, I remembered saying no to PORK, but letchon is yummy, so I took two slices!

Visitors kept on coming, including relatives, friends, and local politicians, since the local election will be next year.

Some of their relatives after eating, would go to our house as they wanted to meet my son.

Granny wanted to hold him but almost gave me a heart attack because of the fear that she might drop him.

Caleb was a happy baby now and always giggled. Plus, he was chubby, so it was easy to catch the attention of everyone. Also, he would go to anyone who wanted to hold him. Ahhh, he can be stolen!

See how comfortable he is sitting to husband's cousin's lap? Many say he looks like him, does he?

The party was at the next house, but ours became an extension. Why? Some would get food and choose to eat here while having chit-chat either with me or some sisters-in-law. Ah, it was draining 😆. I am not really into socializing like this. Back then, whenever we had a party at home, it was @asiaymalay or other sisters entertaining the guests. Thus, now, I was left with no choice 😂.

Ah, I really need to store more energy and patience in upcoming Caleb's christening. Or I could stay in the room and alibi that the baby wanted to sleep. What do you think?
