Hi. Good morning, all my friends… hope that all of you are doing alright at the moment. This is the second part of the museum trip that I had at the Maritime museum at Western Australia.
This museum is located in the Fremantle district of Perth.
The HMAS Sydney
The view from inside the museum. The museum is one of the best that I've been to, with everything curated properly and labeled. Every display item in this museum looks quite new for them to have aged.
TRIXEN B47 Australian pearling lugger
Built in 1904, used for pearling, prawn trawling, and as a cargo ferry.
Mark 8 torpedo
The most amazing thing is to see this in person. A torpedo that is already decommissioned.
The harpoon gun
Used for hunting whales. Not whale friendly.
A toilet
This is a toilet in a vessel. I am not sure how it works. It is made of stainless steel with a plastic seat.
Kudos to how much effort they have put into preserving each of the items here in this particular museum.
An underwater mine
Wow. It's really a great experience to see a real-life mine that has already been decommissioned. Here, in person in this museum. These are things that I would never have been able to see in Malaysia. There are not many marine museums in Malaysia. The last impressive marine museum that I went to was the Sydney Maritime Museum.
The diving machine
Parry Endeavour
KA 1988. This yacht is known for its record-breaking voyage and has set many world records.
That is all for this post on the Western Australia Maritime Museum. I also went to the Fremantle Prison. That was one tour that I absolutely loved.
One of the things about being in Australia is that the culture is different. So it's at times best to experience cultures of others.
