The Malaysian King recently toured Borneo from the 3th of September to the 13th of September travelling a distance of 2154km from one end of Borneo to the other end along the Pan Borneo Highway of Sarawak. While he was in Miri, Sarawak on the 9th of September 2023, I went to the Miri city Handicraft centre to wait and see if I could see the King.

I waited for more than an hour to get this particular footage. This was when the king drove towards the handicraft center with his entourage. He had 50 cars with him. However, he moved along most of the 2154 km of Sarawak and Sabah roads.
My own vlog. This was not an easy vlog to make. I was there for more than two hours. Parking was pretty tough. The parking around the handicraft center was full. Luckily, I found an empty lot.

Lots of people surrounded the king and his family. It was pretty hard to even record a video or take a picture of him.

Everyone was waiting anxiously along the road side. All eager to meet his majesty and the queen.
It was hot. Very hot but the excitement was so big that it overcame any other feelings. The king has never visited Sarawak before. This was the first time.
The Malaysian police
They tried very hard to make sure that law and order were maintained.
Finally, the King's entourage arrived.
After a number of SUVs, finally, I finally saw the king.
He is the current King of Malaysia.
Melanau
In Sarawak, there are many indigenous people. Melanaus are one of them. This kind man showed me how to make a flower from a pandan. I still have it on my table. It is dried at the moment.
The Crown Prince
The King and Queen were both greeted like celebrities here in Sarawak. There were people who waited for them even when it rained. They even tried out the local Sarawakian food and did some traditional dances.
