I work at Unicentre part time here as a tutor. Education is a crucial part of our economy and the future of the country. I've been in the education line for more than a decade. It's rewards are usually intrinsic rather than extrinsic. I worked at an oil and gas company before as well as a teacher. I felt that working in an office with repetitive task isn't for me.
UNICENTRE
Unicentre is an international education consultant that does consultation for school leavers who wish to study domestically as well as internationally. That is their core business. Students fill up questionnaires to find out their interest and what jobs suit them. This will ensure that students would be able to study a course that they are interested in that leads to a more fulfilling career in their life.
This is the main signs where students get to fill in their name. This is for Standard operating procedure during the pandemic.
Curtin University is always a favourite choice for degrees in Miri as it is located in the city. In the past, students had to travel overseas to get a degree or master. Universities have been on the increase in Malaysia in recent years. Students who have had their education in Malaysia can apply for government loan that they can repay back in the future once they start working with very low interest.
This is one of the classroom where I usually conduct my lesson.
Lots of seating. It is usually full but I don't want to take photos with students here without their permission.
Welcoming ambience
It is clean and minimalistic. Spacious. Students who come here usually feel more relaxed.
There are many catalogues of different universities to choose from.
The counselling section for students for them to decide which university they would like to study in the future.
A cabinet with lots of reference books
They have lots of reference books for students and teachers to use.
Spacious

Many Sarawakian students also usually go to Singapore to study and work. I have tutored a handful of them before they head off to Singapore.
It must be very rewarding to help school leavers pick an education path to help them with their futures.

You have very organized rooms of office. I used to be a teacher but to make the room with such a nice arrangement is difficult. It could be most the students were little kids. They often made the room messy but that was the nature of kids.
Hi hi.. Lebah.. I still remember you wrote about that in one of your post. What do you do now? Most of the kids I handle here are teenagers so they know how to keep clean. =) Yea.. I teach little kids before. They are slightly more different but fun. With teenagers, they talk less and do more work usually. =) Have a great day.
Luu, what do you teach?
Hi hi.. =) I teach English, Biology and Science. =) Thanks for asking. Have a great day. =)
