Hello, Hivers! It's me, makiyumee and I am back again today with another blog. The sun is shining to bright today and feeling it's warmth crash onto my skin makes me feel like someone just gave me a hug. Have you felt this kind of feeling? Very comforting right? Today, I will be sharing to you about this fleeting moment that I had encountered this moment. I hope you'll stick with me until the end, and now, let's go it.
It was around 7 in the morning when I woke up to cook breakfast for my family. With its golden rays caressing the landscape, the rising sun had softly awakened humanity to consciousness. With a warmth that invited everyone to leave the cozy surroundings of their dreams and welcome the new day, its light flooded over fields and rooftops. The embrace of the sunrise was kind yet firm, a sign that the day was ahead, and life was in motion.
As I cooked our breakfast and my parents got busy feeding our livestock and pets, my sister woke up last and approached me carefully before sayin, "Ate, look outside." Her voice was still a bit groggy as she spoke to me but I still looked out to see what she was trying to show me.
Colors swayed in a brilliant dance in front of our house, where my mother's flowers were in full bloom. Butterflies wandered from flower to flower, their wings like gorgeous stained glass, making each petal shake. The flowers and butterflies appeared to be playing a light game in which they were competing to outshine the rising sun with their beauty.
"It's spring," I heard my sister said and I couldn't help but laugh at her remark. "There's no spring here in our country. Hot springs, rather, we have a lot." I told her with a laugh. I know she was just joking but I couldn't help but think also that the scene in front of me indeed looked like it was spring. The way each butterfly owned a flower and interacted with it made me thought about how harmonious their connection was.
"Ate, the eggs are burning," was what my sister said that brought me back to reality and I quickly remembered that I was in the middle of cooking our breakfast when my sister showed me the spectacle in front of our house. I quickly turned off the stove before playfully hitting my sister's arm. "It's your fault for distracting me," I told her, but she just laughed at me. After I finished cooking out breakfast, I went back to my room to get my phone and then I snapped these photos to share it all to you.
I was nervous as I walked up with my camera since I knew that the least disturbance could make the butterflies flee. The simple presence of a human quickly disturbed their delicate, fragile beauty. I moved lightly as a whisper, tiptoeing across the dirt so as not to startle them. I knelt carefully down in an attempt to catch their magical dance before it disappeared into the breeze. With every click of the camera, I had to carefully balance keeping their peaceful moment and maintaining my own quiet affection.
"Che, you'll be the lookout for Mama and Papa. Tell me if they're coming so that I'll stop before they could see me," I told my sister who was silently watching me taking pictures of these butterflies so early in the morning. My parents don't really like the idea of us doing something else so early in the morning but I just couldn't help but take a picture of this fleeting moment right before my eyes.
As I continued to snap pictures of my mother's flowers and the butterflies, my sister also became the lookout if ever my parents come. It was like we were on a secret mission, but the mission is to take photos of the butterflies and the flowers. Then, I remembered something as I took the pictures.
During elementary, I learned about pollination during our science class. Pollination is the process through which flowers and butterflies (though bees are said to be a more effective help when it comes to pollination) benefit one another. Butterflies transfer pollen from flower to flower as they move around as if they are dancing waltz on a ballroom, and they absorb nectar from flowers for energy. This aids in the seed production and plant growth of flowers. Butterflies receive nourishment from flowers in exchange. In nature, the connection is very simple to understand but also very significant. Everything around us is connected in a circle of life.
The relationship between flowers and butterflies is vital to their mutual well-being. By this exchange, ecosystems are kept in good condition and the continued growth of plants and butterflies is maintained. More plants and flowers result from butterflies distributing pollen, which aids in the reproduction of plants. These plants can produce food for us, enhance the overall cleanliness of the air, and beautify and brighten our surroundings. In addition to supporting other creatures, healthy ecosystems aid in sustaining the natural balance that is essential to both our planet and our own health.
When my sister told me that my parents were coming, I quickly went back to our house and kept my phone inside the pocket of my shorts as I smiled in victory after capturing such a magnificent scene brought by nature. My parents told me that it was time for us to eat our breakfast and so I served what I cooked on the dining table, and we all shared a very tasty and nutritious meal.

These flowers just bloomed out of nowhere here in our house and my mother just took care of them haha😂

It's nice to see these butterflies once again because they have become a rare sight where I live. Do you have any idea what kind of butterfly this is? Based on my visual search, they appear to be Citrus Swallowtails. Pero ang dami nya pa kasing kamukha na iba rin ang tawag kaya d ako sure hahaha
