As I wrote it is very busy here atm so it's hard to find restaurants that aren't full or busy. But sure, you can have peace and quiet if you drive to places that most people don't visit. Of course there's a big difference compared to Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai is a rather big city with about 1 million residents and this place has 2500 🙂
The weather is actually a bit too cold for me but it's ok. This will be the coldest place I'll visit during my travels.
The food in Chaing Mai is amazing too, and very similar 🙂
