Well, it is not a secret that my family loves to travel. Go to places. Create memories with family and friends. I am not really done with sharing our trip from December 2024 to January 2025. I have already shared about how we spent the New Year, visiting friends, and taking a night tour of my Alma Mater.
Today I want to talk about our walk at Pantawan Rizal Boulevard, Dumaguete City. Dumaguete holds a special place in my heart because it is where I spent my high school and college years.
Spending time at Rizal Boulevard brought back memories though the place looked not exactly the same years ago.
My sister and her son were with us. We parked at the free parking lot provided and we started walking feeling the wind on our faces. Hair was blown rapidly. Making it look very messy. LOL, We did not care at all. The children enjoyed it. There were a lot of people there too. Others brought their dogs and we also saw a group or two singing with their portable karaoke.
It was fun seeing these people doing their thing and us doing ours. We took photos. It was almost sunset. Too bad we did not see the sunset on that side.
This is the Panilongon landmark. It is also found at the Pantawan Rizal Boulevard.
It is very evident in the photos that we were having a hard time managing our hair. 😂 We enjoyed the wind though!
Before it got dark, we settled ourselves to eat at the famous Tempurahan or Street vendors who sell street foods! These vendors used to be located near my Alma Mater, Silliman University (still a part of Rizal Boulevard). And for some reason, they moved it to the other end of the boulevard. I don't complain though. I think the new location is better. Tables and chairs were provided with colorful beach umbrellas.
We had tempura, squid balls, squid rolls, and chili dynamite. Paired with different sauces. We enjoyed eating! It was also surprising to see the same man who serenaded customers when I was in college, still serenading customers now! Wow! I was not able to take a photo of him but yes! It was the same person from two decades ago. Amazing!
We also had "dirty" ice cream after. The ice cream sold on the streets. It was like bringing back my childhood years. We used to buy this ice cream when were young. I am glad our children were able to experience it too.
There were other stores at the Pantawan. Stores selling stuff like cellphone accessories, clothes, souvenirs and many more. There's a lot to see when you visit.
When you happen to visit Dumaguete, you might want to check out this place. Relax, Eat, and chill.
Life in Dumaguete is slow-paced and I love it. I would love to stay there but we now live in Cebu and my husband's job is here. So we just came to Dumaguete to visit family and friends.
Have you been to Dumaguete? If you haven't, I highly recommend that you put it on your list.
Thank you for taking the walk with me and until next time!
xoxo,
Met

thank you so much!
I haven't been to Dumaguete yet, but I have been to Cebu back when I was in college. It's really nice as to spend time with your family and went beautiful places as long as you're with your family, plus the street food, wow, it's so delicious.
If you get the chance to visit, it's a nice place. 😍

I went to Dumaguete just once and many years ago but I can't remember if we stopped at Pantawan. I would like to go back to Dumaguete someday and explore the place more. Day out always include eating and kids don't want to miss it. Wow, that man who serenaded customers years ago still performs everyday up to now. I agree, it's somewhat similar to Bohol, having a slow-paced lifestyle.
