1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.
It is never too late to celebrate Valentine's. However, love should be celebrated every day of our lives. This being said, our church community had a wonderful Post Valentine Celebration last February 22, 2025. I was part of the organizing committee and we initially planned the program to include our young single adults. As the planning progressed, we were informed that another activity was scheduled on the same date as our event and it was meant for young single adults. So we made changes in the program and focused it on married couples.
We titled our event "Dynamic Duo".
The Food and Venue Preparation
Days before the schedule, we told our participants this was a potluck party. Bring any food that they can share with everyone in the party. Many made pledges. Some promised desserts, salad, fruits, viands, drinks, Lechon, and many more. And so we were set for the food.
As to the venue, a day before, together with the rest of the organizing committee, I helped decorate. It was a joint effort and the outcome was amazing! We had curtains, balloons, lights, etc. Our chapel's cultural hall was set for the activity.
These were the final output:
Tables and chairs.
We had a table designated for desserts alone.
I almost forgot, on the day of the event, we added additional fairy lights and hearts at the windows. Making it more overloaded with Hearts. 😂
The Event
Each couple was instructed to come in their matching attire. Jay and I wore our 15-year old shirts. First worn when we were still engaged. It still fits! Though a little tight, but still in good shape with our bodies. LOL
We had our pictures taken before the program started.
For comparison sake, see the photo below, taken 15 years ago. 😀
Spot the difference! LOL
So the program began!
This is Ate Annie, our Emcee for the night.
We had games and dancing. Everyone had a lot of fun participating in the games and the dance. As a summary of the activities of the night, below is a video created by one of the couples, Kyle and Krystal Policarpio.
If you watched the video, you will see how each couple enjoyed the night. It was a night prepared for the couples. Some single adults also assisted in the program. Especially babysitting our little ones while mommy and daddy were busy.
It was a night full of love and appreciation to our spouses. Filled with meaningful advice from other couples. Learning different ways to show our love to each other.
In conclusion...
We don't need to wait for Valentine's Day to show our love. Expressing our love to our partners, loved ones, friends, and those around us should be done every single day. Though Valentine's Day is kind of a special day, we should never forget to show our love every day for the rest of our lives.
Thank you for reaching this far. I hope you had a blast last Valentine's Day! 😍
Until next time!
xoxo,
Met

Thank you Ate!
Every event on the church is full of laughter, games and enjoyment. I was a member of the church but for now I was inactive. Hoping I came back, soon. It is nice that you still keep your couple shirt. And it's nice to reminiscing on your younger days.
Please do come back soon! ☺️
I hope to come back, soon.
