We woke up earlier than usual this morning—at 4 a.m. We had to head to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the city center, so after showering and getting ready, we left straight away without having breakfast. The hospital is about 130 km from our home.
We drove at a steady pace and eventually stopped for breakfast at a must-visit spot whenever we go to Kota Kinabalu: Restaurant Mee Ngar in Talipuk. Even though we had to make a U-turn to get there, it was totally worth it. The food was amazing. The kids ordered fried noodles and Kentucky-style fried chicken, while my wife and I enjoyed curry laksa. Everything was delicious. They also had buns and paus, which were a treat, especially for someone like me who loves Chinese cuisine.
The journey to the restaurant was about 80 kilometers and took us 2 hours due to heavy traffic. Thankfully, the weather was great—no rain—and despite the slow-moving trucks, the drive was smooth.
After breakfast, we continued to the hospital for my doctor’s appointment. Finding a safe parking spot turned out to be a big challenge—it took me almost two hours. Many cars were double-parked in unsafe or far-off areas. I dropped off my wife and kids at the hospital entrance so my wife could register my name for the appointment, but even then, we were already late.
Long story short, we wrapped up the doctor’s appointment, including picking up medication, at around 5 p.m. We didn’t expect to spend the whole day at the hospital. We had initially planned to take the kids out having fun afterward, but that plan didn’t work out as planned. Ah tireeed.... Have a nice day everyone. Blessed!
