All you need to do is have two google accounts, one set to Thailand, one to home country. Don't even need two phones, I have uk sim and Thai sim in the same phone. This also gets you around the issue of certain apps been geo-sensitive. I can mix and match the Google accounts and phone numbers to pay Thai prices for subscriptions etc but also download UK apps that aren't available in Thailand.
