The Arashiyama area is a popular tourist destination known for its rich culture and traditions. As a frequent visitor, I have observed that both Japanese locals and tourists often wear kimonos, which are traditional Japanese costumes typically worn on special occasions such as weddings, tea ceremonies, and festivals. In Kyoto, it is now possible to rent kimonos for taking photos, wearing, and sightseeing.
One popular spot in the Arashiyama area is the "Kimono Forest," located near the Randen tram's Arashiyama Station. This unique attraction features acrylic poles adorned with kimonos and is a popular spot for visitors to take photos and enjoy the scenery. There are over 200 poles installed throughout the station, and it is beautifully lit at night. Whenever I take the Randen tram, I often make sure to stop and take some photos at the Kimono Forest before continuing on to my next destination.

Lovely photos! I've heard of the komono forest but I've never actually looked into what it was. Very interesting to see it.
Thank you 😊
