My friends knew that I was sad due to what had happened back home. One of the African friends was going to get married soon so she set up a party. I planned not going there but my friend had no one with her to go so I was forced to go. I was too sleepy but I enjoyed watching how the way they dance. This is not yet the wedding day but their first step before the big night. There are similarity with the Arabian wedding preparation.
My new Filipina friend and the bride.
Me and my Visayan friends.
They consumed all the time in dancing.
Even the sister of my boss danced with them. She the employer of the bride.
This is their specialty food from Ethiopia. It's like big salty hotcake with cooked goat intestine. I ate with them to give respect the invitation of eating together.
The bride received money and flowers from the employer's family and friends.
They have their traditional way how to entertain visitors by giving a cup of black coffee with white salty cake.
They had delicious wine that I loved. I drank some glasses and never surrendered drinking it.
I fall asleep while they continuously dancing until 3am. We went home at dawn. The street was empty, we were the only two walking on the street. There's no regret going to their party, I got some idea how their culture about getting married.
The best part of the their celebration was when they let the bride ate the food using their hands with the visitors. I felt something weird but as a friend, I respect their culture.
I was laughing because their lady boss, the sister of my lady boss told the bride that tonight, you are a bride, do not do the cleaning but when you wake up in the morning you have to clean the female visiting room.
I am honored that they invited us, those who are living near the house.
That's all for today @tattoodjay initiative, #hiveph and @asean.admin and community members who are always supporting me.
What an interesting tradition ate Deevs. I’m wondering how does the salty cake taste with a goat intestine? OMG, I wanna try eating that. LoL. So you mean they’re dancing for many hours? Wow they exercised a lot which is good for the health. It is indeed interesting to know cultures and traditions of each country around the globe and thank you for sharing a Ethiopian pre-wedding culture. It’s weird when they feed their guests the foods through their barehands, but if I was there, I’d really have fun because I’m curious.
