The decentralized micro-blogging social media app, D.Buzz partners with MAD Project and Davao Defi Community in the Philippines for Hive visibility in FrolicBlock, the hottest summer blockchain event and Web3 conference in the South this coming June 9, 2023.
The FrolicBlock summer blockchain event this June 2023, was made possible through the efforts of the MAD Project in coordination with the Davao Defi community and the with the support of the Local Government of Mari City, in Southern Philippines.
What is FrolicBLock:
FrolicBlock is considered one of the highly anticipated Web3 conferences in the Philippines which will be attended by more than 2,000 individuals who are interested in cryptocurrency, Decentralized Finance, NFT, and everything about Web3.
In partnering with the MAD Project and the Davao Defi Community, D.Buzz will represent Hive.io discussing the importance of decentralization, Web3, and the impacts of social media on the community.
Some people may have heard the term Web3 but only a few understand what it means, its vision of a better internet, an internet with an added identity, money, and social layer.
FrolicBlock will feature Nathan Senn (@nathansenn) and Chris Rice (@chrisrice), D.Buzz co-founders as resource speakers and Hive representatives as they embark on their journey following the footsteps of some groups in promoting a new digital economic system utilizing peer-to-peer networks that no single person or entity controlled, yet anyone could use.
MAD Project:
The MAD Project is considered as one of the most prominent event organizer in Southern Philippines and through various partnerships they colloborated with the Davao Defi Community to organized a Web 3 event wherein could educate the people about blockchain, cryptocurrency, NFT, DeFi and other Web 3 related topics.
Davao Defi Community (DDC):
What is Davao Defi Community (@davaodeficom) and who are the people behind this group? The Davao Defi Community is the first decentralized finance community in the Philippines. They provide a space for members to learn about and discuss the latest developments in Defi.
The DDC also aims to connect with like-minded individuals starting from the Davao Region in Southern Philippines, who are interested in blockchain, Web3, metaverse, NFT, and decentralized finance (DeFi).
This community comprises individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise, including developers, investors, and enthusiasts.
The main goal of DDC is to promote the adoption and understanding of DeFi in Mindanao and beyond its borders, by providing educational resources, facilitating discussions, creating meetups and events, partnerships, crypto-education, and collaboration within the community.
MAD Project, DDC, Hive, and D.Buzz Partnership:
The MAD Project and Davao DeFi Community collaborated and partnered with one of the most popular community-backed cryptocurrencies in terms of used-case and decentralized applications (Dapps) adoption worldwide, the Hive Blockchain.
Hive is prominently featured on the official website of the DDC alongside the only Philippine-based decentralized micro-blogging platform D.Buzz. This Dapp keeps true to its promise that every user truly owned their account keys and can post their content securely, and the best thing is that this Dapp is built on top of the Hive blockchain.
The highly anticipated Frolicblock event this coming June which will be held in one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in Mindanao, Mati City, is not the first time that DDC, Hive, and D.Buzz partnered with because they have already made a successful event dubbed as Block Chill Night in Davao City.
During the said event in Davao City, Nathan Senn, the co-founder of D.Buzz even demonstrated how fast Hive is, with its 3-second block time and zero-fee transaction, made possible by the Resource Credit system.

What to Expect in the FrolicBlock Event in Mati City:
During a recent meeting by the D.Buzz Team and the DDC Team inside the Coffee Project, a prominent coffee shop inside a mall in Davao City, the DDC Team revealed that they expect an estimated 2,000 people will come to the event. A separate annual event dubbed Summerfrolic will be held also a day after FrolicBlock in Mati City.
With the partnership between Hive, D.Buzz, MAD Project, and the DDC event organizers will do their best to onboard invite prominent names not only in the Web3 space and cryptocurrency but also in the mainstream media and the community as a whole.
According to Rod (@rodrunnerph), one of the prominent members of the DDC Team, they are currently making negotiations among the various Web 3 projects to make their presence visible at the said event.
Some prominent names in the entertainment industry will also join the SummerFrolic event which will be held after the FrolicBlock that will surely make a buzz and bring a huge number of journalists, mainstream media personalities, and social media influencers.
With this development and highly anticipated gathering in Mati City, a prominent tourist destination in Mindanao featuring its long stretch of fine white sandy beach, the Hive Logo alongside the D.Buzz Logo will be prominently displayed in the area for the said event.
