On December 31st, 2024, I went to Celukan Bawang port of north Bali. There was a ship anchored on the port called celebrity millenium whose some of the passengers would go on day excursions. I work as a tour guide with other collegues who will go to the excursions.
The ship arrived late, and I wasn’t feeling well because of the flu. Still, I was ready to guide a group of twenty-four travelers, who were excited for their journey.
Our first stop was Pelabuhan Buleleng in Singaraja, an old harbor with a lot of history. We visited the Yudha Mandala Tama Monument, built to honor local heroes who fought for freedom. Nearby, we stopped at Ling Gwan Kiong Temple, a small but beautiful Chinese temple by the sea. Its peaceful atmosphere and ocean view made it a relaxing place to visit.
After that, we went to Bali Handara hotel and restaurant for lunch. Although the Bali Handara Gate (the gate to the hotel) is a famous spot, we didn’t have time to stop for photos. Lunch was quick, and we headed to Ulun Danu Temple by Lake Bratan afterward. This water temple looked magical, as if it was floating on the lake. The cool air and mountain views made it more plessant.
Next, we stopped at a viewpoint to see Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan. The view of the twin lakes surrounded by green hills was breathtaking. Our last stop was Puri Singaraja, an old palace where we learned about Bali’s royal history and culture.
After the tour, I went to my in-laws’ house on where my family was ready for New Year’s Eve on. Exhausted and sick, I fell asleep early, and miss the new year eve.
