UENA: CHILI OIL NOODLE

Hii ASEAN people, how are you? I hope you're doing well and staying healthy. Because it's already the rainy season.

Some time ago, my friend and I went to a pretty popular place to eat, the menu itself is actually everywhere. Because this menu is mushrooming in Indonesia.

At first I thought this was a Korean restaurant, because from the outside it looked like a Korean restaurant, with a combination of white and purple. But when I looked into it, it turned out to be an Indonesian restaurant.

Inside, there are LED lights, and there is a bar to pick up food. Here we ordered and picked up our own spoons and food as soon as it was ready.

On the right side, there is a large TV playing Indonesian pop songs.

Yup, Chili Oil Noodles, in this place itself makes Chili oil noodles as their main menu, with wide noodle variants and is the best seller menu.

Although there is a curly noodle option, I chose the wide noodle variant, with a spiciness level of 2. Because I was afraid of having laryngitis, so I chose a medium spiciness level.

Not much different from other typical Indonesian noodles. The only difference is the chili oil, topped with minced chicken, and boiled mustard greens. Unfortunately, the chicken used is not all chicken, they mix it with artificial meat derived from vegetable protein. So it makes the taste less.

Besides the best seller Chili oil noodles, they also have Chicken Gohyong with Chili oil sauce, Gohyong itself is made from spring roll skins filled with ground chicken meat, then fried. It has a crispy texture on the outside and soft on the inside.
Because of the chili oil, the flavor becomes spicy.

I don't know about other places where gohyong is popular, but I think the goh tong here is pretty good. It's just that the chili oil for the sauce is a bit more salty. So I separated the gohyong and the chili oil first.

For the drink, I chose Telang Tea, the tea that comes from telang flowers makes it a beautiful color because it is added with lemon juice until it turns purple.

Overall, this place is pretty good, orders are processed quickly, without waiting long, my friend and I can already enjoy our food. And the price is quite affordable. So this place is quite a recommendation to go to, and good enough for us to visit again next time.

I hope they expand the space to make the waiting list less long, and have more drink menus. So that visitors have more choices other than mineral water and telang tea.

I love chili oil dipped with different kind of food and one of the food that I would like to dip the chili oil is the siomai. Siomai is similar to what you called Chicken Gohyong.

Ah I see. You should try Chili oil with Dimsum mentai, 🤭

I love noodles but I can't tolerate spicy, greetings

Me too, for now I can't tolerate really spicy, i just tolerate level 1-2 haha
