Today we had a quick stroll at the city to buy some goods for a one week budget. Now a days, here in the Philippines 1000 peso is so hard to budget for a weeks grocery especially when you have a kids in your home. They tend to be hungry all the time, so snacks is must at your refrigerator. My son, he is 2 years old now and know how to open our refrigerator, it was a dilemma for me as a mom if there is nothing inside our refrigerator, so every week we go to the market to buy some biscuits , milk and foods for everyday.
Together with my son with his spiderman costume, he really loves spiderman that's why his father bought him one. That's our happiness right now, when we can see how excited our children when we give them a surprise even though it's a simple one, they are so delighted and they are my inspiration to work harder everyday. for them to have a brighter future.
On our way to the City, you can see that we are surrounded by rice fields, since the primary work here in our place is farming. The road is not quite nice here especially when it rains. I think we can reach the city around 20 minutes.
Around 10:00 am when we went to the city and we arrived at 10:30, there is a bit traffic as you can see on the picture. Our first stop was on the bank to withdraw some cash for our budget for the week.
This is the municipality of the city that we always went whenever we will go buy for goods. Roxas City was the nearest city in our province. As you can see there's still the Santa Claus statue on their municipality. This city was also known for their "Pinakbet Festival" which was celebrated around month of March. We always visit it because there are artist that always performs in their fiesta.
Second stop was here at the vegetable section, They all look fresh and the price makes you cry, just kidding. I just bought some squash, beans, pechay, onions, garlic and eggplant for the vegetables. I also bought 1 tray of egg which is must in our kitchen. I tend to cook food that has an egg on it , almost everyday. It's really nutritious and easy to cook that's why. I spend almost 1000 peso on the vegetables except for the groceries so 1000 peso was really not enough.
My last stop was here at the Grocery mart, I just bought what is necessary here like biscuits for my kids, coffee because coffee is a must especially in the morning. Sugar, oil, toothpaste, soap and some things for my personal hygiene. After I paid it on the counter. We decided to go home now because my toddler is already crying out loud. It was really a tough decision to budget your money for a week. That's why an extra income is really important especially when you already have a family to feed, but everyday we thank God for the blessing that we always have because we know that God will always provide as long as you pray and of course we must work for it. That's all for today again. I hope you enjoyed reading my story today.

Yes I definitely agree, 1000 peso is just a small amount when you spend it especially in the market. The increasing cost of food, particularly rice, is a challenge to many Filipino household.
When you started to spend 1000 pesos in just a blink of an eye it was gone. Especially right now that my children are on their toddler years they are hungry all the time😂. So I really make effort to give them healthy foods. So aside from biscuits I cook them homemade merienda.
That's really true, I even experience it now and I can feel the inflation in the Philippines than before. Your 1,000php now is like worth 100php before and you can see the difference when you were the one that going to the grocery and buying groceries.
Yes the difference from what we could buy before from was really big. Just the milk of our toddlers cause almost 3000 a month.
My mom would sometimes ask me to go grocery shopping and just give me a small amount of money to buy haha. It was more of a challenge if I could be able to budget the money , and buy what we really need. I agree with you, Ma'am haha 1000 pesos now feels like 500 pesos. , like you can buy 4 to 6 kilos of rice only. On the other hand, we are happy to buy important things to survive and our trust to God grows bigger, because we believe that He will provide ☺️❣️.
That's true, that God will always provide
Indeed, the rising cost of daily necessities makes budgeting tough, but with right planning, we somehow can surpass this challenge. I agree, extra income is necessary especially now that everything costs a lot. If I had a small backyard, I would plant vegetables and herbs so I didn't need to buy them at the store. We just need to keep the faith and continue working hard.
Planting vegetables was really a big help. It will save us money, and to think that we harvest what we planted hits different than buying it. 😊
The vegetables here look very clean
Yes, we went there around 10 am, but the vegetables still looks fresh, according to the vendor they just harvest it.
