I have sadly noticed this myself when it comes to cats, I wouldn't mind them wanting to be outside it's understandable but when they never return it's very sad.

for sure. This has happened to me a couple of times in Thailand. I always wonder if the cat died or if it just found a better place to stay. I hope it was the second thing.
