Happy 4th Hive Birthday to Me!

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY3 years ago

This is a late post and a post-Hive Birthday celebration but still, I am going to write about it because as far as I remember, I haven't written any on my past Hive birthdays. And since more and more people are coming into the blockchain, I feel like I should write one to reminisce, be grateful, and perhaps, inspire even just one person out there wishing to have a good stay here on Hive.

It all started back in 2017 with some friends from bitLanders talking about 'S___mit'. As usual, my lazy a$$ was the last to join. Since I was writing more on bitLanders that time, I barely had time to explore S and so I didn't enjoyed it much and went hiatus for more than a year.

Fast forward to November 2019, I was really sad over something and diverted my attention to return writing. Until March 2020,as a product of revolution, Hive was born. And since then, I was here. I am grateful to be here and seeing how this blockchain is getting more attention today.

I'm not the best at convincing people and I've failed at inviting friends back in 2017. I've come to realize that you really can't convince people to like what you suggest if they don't really want it. In addition, most people want proof before they jump into something. So yeah, one of the many reasons why I keep my Hives.

My sister's cake. It's so colorful so I'll borrow it for my birthday post as well. Lol.

I remember one reason why I kept writing here on Hive is to have enough funds for a new laptop. But you know, my old laptop is still holding on despite its screen dying five months ago so I have to postpone getting a new one. Plus, I already have quite enough budget to replace it someday.

Early this year, I was blessed to have finally evolved into a dolphin. I think this is one of the highlights of my Hive journey this year. Didn't think it would be soon, so I am very happy to have unlocked it after a year and a half of being active. But even as a dolphin, I feel like I still have a lot to learn, which I blame my laziness for it. There are lots of things to learn and discover here on Hive. There is more to Hive than writing blogs, you can surely find something that is of your cup of tea.

Some things I could advise new users is to stay consistent and patient. As cliche as this may sound but it's true, the beginning is always the hardest. Try not to focus on the rewards because it's not always sunshine and rainbows. You'll only get disappointed if you always look on the numbers. Don't mind the numbers but instead, enjoy writing and genuinely love it. It doesn't have to be a nerdy post, just something about you really love. Start from there. And maybe find some people too, whose posts pique your interest. Join challenges and participate at the Hive Power Up Day as well.

Before I go on and just ramble random thoughts, let me just end my birthday post by thanking all the people I have come across and talked to here on Hive. You're all awesome in your own way. Hopefully, I could get over this blockage in my head and get through my laziness so I can be functional in here more often. Thanks Hive for being my little corner of sunshine and rant wall(sometimes hehe) and allowing me to share my art to more people and be able to connect with people around the world. There are more things I want to try here on Hive and so for sure, my 4th birthday is only the beginning of my many years here on the blockchain.

Thanks to everyone for keeping the blockchain in order and continuing to put something new. Hive has truly become my home here in the digital space.

Thanks, Hive! And Happy 4th Birthday to me! :)

In in my 4th Hive year too, but I must admit I wasn't too inspired to post my first year or so when it was Steemit and bid bots dominated. I couldn't imagine how I'd ever even get a ten cent upvote at that time. Things have changed for the better since I've become active, and Hive is a much better place than Steemit was several years ago.

Congratulations on your Hive-chievement!

I agree! Hive felt more like home than Steemit. I remember putting up my intro back on Steemit and it only got around 11 cents. lol New users here on Hive are so lucky today.

Thank you! And congratulations on your 4th year too!

Thanks, kouhai! Yeah it's been five months and I still remember the traumatic feeling when it started acting crazy. 😂 It was right after drawing Es Death.

Congratulations on being here for four years... It is not an easy journey... I joined in August 2018. I am still a couple of thousands of HP away from being at Dolphin.. =) Have a great weekend.

Thank you! For sure! It's not an easy journey! I remember back in 2020, my goal for that year was to reach at least 1,300 HP but I was able to reach that even three times my goal because of Hive Power Up Day. I got motivated powering up Hive each month. hehe You can do it too! ^_^ Have a great weekend too!

Congratulations! Wishing more success on your journey!
