Davao de Oro is a place where my mom and dad grew up. My mother works in Dubai and she can only go home once a year so we really need or find a way to go there.

It was the second week of January and it was one of the biggest trips since my mother had a lot of siblings who wanted to come so she decided to do both boat trip and land trip instead of airplane and in order as well to save the expenses. But to be honest, there's a part in me that I do not want to come to since it was Sinulog week and I really wanted to experience it again because it was two years that the Sinulog was stopped because of the pandemic and I don't have other choice but give a change to my mother since it's not everyday though. It was already the departure day, and as you can see in the picture I am still wearing my uniform because I had classes to attend first. It's now onboarding and I can already feel the excitement because I can't wait to see my cousins, titos and titas. Our trip was fun and enjoyable because my little cousins were there to play and have fun with.

Fast forward, we arrived already at Nasipit Butuan Port and we have to travel around 4 to five hours to arrive at Maco, Davao de Oro. Our first stop is breakfast at Bayugan Uno Agusan del Sur in which we also have some relatives who prepared breakfast for us. Even though the trip was very long you will not be tired or bored because the views are amazing and the road is very wide. After that long trip, we finally arrived at our long awaited destination and we were all welcomed with the warmest greeting.

Afterwards, it was dinner time, they prepared us lots of delicious foods such as sinabaw na otan, pansit and fried chicken. I also prepared them grilled garlic cheese scallops and I was really happy because they all love my food. After dinner, we had cold beers, videoke and a little party. My mom also gave some "pasalubong" to everyone and that's one of the famous traditions in Filipinos too. And we ended the night by having chitchats and story time with them.

When morning came, I accompany my titos and titas to the market since I am one of the cook and after everything was all ready we proceed to go to our next destination which is the beach so kindly wait for the part 2 on this blog to know what happen next about this Davao de Oro trip with my fam.
