At first I didn't know that the quiet complex was indeed because it was created to be quiet. This complex is not far from the Sonobudoyo museum, my previous destination. I was about to go to the big mosque as I said above and got lost taking a wrong turn while reading the maps.
But look what I found? A quiet neighbourhood, with all the designs still in harmony and left authentic to the old style. Seen from the model of the house and especially the design of the windows and the colours applied seemed to carry a nostalgic aura. I felt like I was thrown back to the early 90s. When I was a kid, this was the window model of the houses in our area. It reminded me of a batik village in Kauman, Solo. It's almost like this, except that this one is really a residential complex.
The roads in this area are all full of concrete blocks, so the streets are also neat. To my surprise, the people in this area are also not noisy. Investigating, it turns out that this is the complex behind the Gedhe Kauman mosque, so the end of this area is an arched doorway to the Gedhe mosque. As for the reason why this is so, I didn't ask the locals. perhaps because the Gedhe Kauman mosque is also sacred, that's why this area is made so quiet to respect the whole area.
So, all the residents here are obedient. If you want to ride a motorbike, you have to push it to the boundary of the compound. The area looks old-fashioned but the environment is quite clean. In those shared pictures I didn't see any living creature and just imagining what kind of feel it would give you if you went there in the night time. It could give you a horror vibe.
