Hi ASEAN Buddies...
Nowadays, enjoying Thai cuisine doesn't have to go to Thailand. You can find it in the capital city of Jakarta. I may not know much about Thai cuisine, but the only Thai cuisine that I like is Tom Yum.
I like Raacha restaurant, which is a Thai restaurant. Starting from liking Raacha restaurant, I was challenged to explore other Thai restaurants. Coincidentally, in Gandaria City Mall there is another Thai restaurant, namely SanThai. If related to the word in Indonesian, SanThai is the same as Santai, which means free from all kinds of tension, or slow down.
It's a very unique restaurant with a tosca green and summer concept. There I ordered two dishes, namely Seafood Tom Yum and Papaya Salad.
Papaya Salad
This is the first time I found that Papaya can be made into a salad. Very unique, isn't it? I don't really like Papaya fruit, but my mother once made a dish from Papaya that was not fully ripe. It looks exactly like this Papaya Salad. What my mother cooked is called stir-fried Papaya, where you only need to grate the Papaya fruit and cook it. It's certainly very delicious.

However, this Papaya Salad from a typical Thai dish is very different. I will not discuss how to cook it because I am clearly not an expert in cooking, but what I can say about this Papaya Salad is very fresh. It's like you are eating papaya that has just come out of the refrigerator. That's because the sour taste is very refreshing to me. Am I Wrong? Haha
Seafood Tom Yum
And this is my favorite, seafood Tom Yum. However, this Tom Yum is very different from the Tom Yum I usually eat, maybe because the price is adjusted. You know that seafood is quite expensive, so when you see seafood dishes with affordable prices, I bet you will get only 1 small shrimp. Ha Ha Ha..

Talking about this seafood Tum Yum, it is definitely different from what I imagined before. I thought that I would get a seafood dish with lots of fillings, also a very thick sauce. The Tom Yum soup at Raacha Restaurant is not as thick as this. I think it is because it does not use coconut milk like the Tom Yum soup at San Thai restaurant.
It is definitely a heavy dish that will increase your cholesterol. But the good news is, this Seafood Tom Yum is very delicious with a large portion. In addition, it is heated directly. You will get a portion of a bowl with a fire underneath. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of it due to excitement about the looks of Seafood Tom Yum.
In terms of experience, I have never been to Thailand. But if I go there, I know what kind of food I will hunt for. This is definitely a very pocket-friendly dish if eaten once in a lifetime. Of course, I will not suggest you eat it every day because it will increase your cholesterol levels.
