One week into my trip to Indonesia and I made it safely to the beautiful island of Bali, after a rough first night I am eager to discover what this gems has to offer.

Relaxing an finding my marks around Kuta
After arriving at a new destinations, I like walking around the block to see what is available to me, specially regarding food :). In Indonesia it is easy to spot local restaurant called Warung, there is a lot to choose from and also other restaurants which are priced a little bit higher
Compare to Jakarta you can feel that the city of Kuta is really about tourism and all the shops vendor are looking to sell you somethings which is a bit different then Jakarta where nobody really pay that much attention to foreigners.
Many tattoo shops, surfing lesson, bar and massage/spa venues are located around the main streets of Kuta. Along the beach you will find local mini bars renting long chairs and serving cold beers, a popular attraction in Kuta is watching the sunset from the beach(or I guess sunrise if you are into waking up early/not sleeping)

Testing a café with good Wifi, I was by myself, in Bali it is the end of the good season, way less tourists around so you might be able to negotiate better deals for souvenir, hotels and taxi services.
This breakfast cost me around 8 USD with the juice and it is the first western breakfast I had since departing.
During those two days I walked along the beach on both side for like 45 mins to see what was around, I realized I am not that fare from the Airport, less then 10km but with the traffic in bali it still took nearly an hour to get there.
On Day 9, I went for my first sunset along the beach which is beautiful, in Bali the sunset is around 6:30pm last like 30mins and then it become dark very fast.
It is easy to find a spot in a bar on the sand and watch it.
Planning the next few days and enjoying the pool
A very nice perk at the hotel is the pool, the environment around it is nice and compare to the beach it is more convenient when solo traveling because you don't have to bring your stuff and watch it. I was like 100m from the pool so it was a matter of getting changed, taking my phone and headphones (to listen to replay of AMA of course), a water bottle and a towel.
The pool is also a meeting place where you get to meet other people staying at the hotel, I met an Australian couple who have been coming to Bali since 1998 so I got a few tips from them like going to Sanur beach on the eats side of the islands as it was calmer. I would actually plan that trip during my week in Kuta.
Conclusion
This concludes day 8 and 9 of my trip. It was nice to fly again but also nice to settle back in for another week long stay. Good Wifi at the hotel and good 4G connection anyway with my French SIM card so I can still write article and reply to some threads every now and then.
