I also have never heard of or eaten jengkol. What is it, a nut or a fruit? And what kind of flavour. Well done to you and your friend for doing any job to support your families.

Jengkol is in the form of a fruit. Its texture is hard and like flesh, it has a slightly sweet and bitter taste. you can try jengkol you can get in Southeast Asia.
Sounds like my kind of flavour. I will try to find it at the markets next town we're in. I'm in Malaysia now but am guessing it grows here too.
