Yesterday, my father and I picked a lot of chayote. Some chayote were given to neighbors and some were sold to vendors. Today I used some of the chayote our family cooked for dinner today. The dinner I made today was mainly chayote mixed with tempura flour. In Myanmar, not only chayote fruit but also various vegetables are mixed with tempura flour. Most Myanmar people eat this fried vegetable and fried rice for breakfast. Although people in Myanmar fry a variety of vegetables with tempura flour, I prefer to fry chayote, potato and corn.
These vegetables fries are very cheap in my country. These 15 fried vegetables cost about $ 1. In our house, we often do this kind of frying. Every time fry something like this, my mother fry it. Today I fried chayote. Because I was not good at chayote frying, I had to get some help from my mother. Now I will first tell you the ingredients needed to fry chayote with tempura flour.
Ingredients;
- chayote
- tempura flour
- rice flour
- pea flour
- a little salt
- cooking oil
I only use two chayote fruits for dinner tonight. I washed the two chayote fruits thoroughly with water first. Then I slice these two chayote fruits.
It's time to make tempura yolks. To make tempura yolks, I put a tablespoon of rice flour, tempura flour and pea flour in a bowl. I added a pinch of salt.
I mixed all of them with water. If too much water, it will not be a good time to fry chayote. It is also bad to add less water. So, I need to add as water as I need.
I put sliced chayote into those yolks. Then I mixed it all up.
I heated the oil in a frying pan. When the oil is hot, I gently add each mixture of chayote to the oil. Then I use chopsticks to stir. These chayotes do not need to be fried for long. After frying for 5 minutes, I can put it in a plate.
These fries can be paired with chili sauce or sour chili sauce. I like to eat it with chili sauce. This fry is easy to make and good to eat. If you do not like chayote, you can try other vegetables. If you want to try Myanmar breakfast, you can try this fried with fried rice.
