My hair has been my symbol of grace and beauty, and I bet so does to everyone. I love my long hair and I take good care of it but as it grew longer, I suffered from the pain it gave me when it would accidentally be pulled or when I comb my hair.

When my hair was really long, I could not have the freedom to let it flow all the time because the wind would easily tangle them giving me a har
d time combing and when I tie them up, the weight of the hair would pull the strands on my scalp and as time pass by, it became uncomfortable.

Also, I got sick In September which caused my scalp to hurt even more with the weight of my hair and made me decide to chop it off a bit but I was letting it slide thinking I might not need it anymore when I get well.

I've never been to a hair dresser since I was 16 and o my hair myself with just a mirror and a pair of scissors in hand.

It was one Sunday morning when I thought it was a perfect time to do it and so I did after my son approved of my decision. He too, does not like my hair because it tickles him when he cuddles with me.

So into the mirror I went with a pair of scissors and chopped my hair on a shoulder length level. But as I went on and try to level my hair, I got a bit shorter than I was hoping for but I'm sure it would just grow long soon enough and I hope that by that time, I would be enjoying it.

I took the photo above few hours after cutting my hair and I still got a few more strands missed.

The husband was not at home when I did it and when he saw me, he was shocked and jokingly told me I look like a cat and I don't know what he really meant but it sure was funny.

So I digged out my gallery finding some selfies I took with my hair untied and I realized that there was only a few time I did it and I really did tie my hair oftentimes.

The evening came and the daughters were home, Laling saw me and envied me with my new hair style. She wanted the same and I told he to wait till morning so she could bathe after cutting them.

I even purposely cut her hair past her shoulder but asked to cut a little more and then she was satisfied when she can effortlessly flip her hair when she turn.

I took this photo a few weeks before cutting Laling's hair

And this is how we look side my side. We're twinning our hair! Except the bang, lol!

I convinced @eylii to cut her hair but she refused and said she like her hair long so I let her be.

I was amazed that the short hair hid some years away and I could say I looked fresher and younger than I actually was.

Cutting my hair also gave me a sense of new start and redirection which I needed most at this sickliest days of my life.

So that is how I chopped and said goodbye to my long hair. What about you, how often do you cut your hair? What makes you do it?

Life is a roller coaster of of happiness and disappointments but despite all that always have the source of happiness from the people and the things you love.
