Pimp My Cap

Two days ago, @clareartista and I were chilling at one of my favorite river beaches in this area. It was the first time that Clare visited this place, 8 days after arriving/coming to live with me in Portugal.

We really enjoyed our couple of hours near the rio Alva, on this beautiful Autumn day.

The water was a bit too cold to swim, but we waded through it for a while and marveled at the beauty of nature.

I actually swam in it the next day (yesterday) with a friend and managed to stay in the water for a minute or 2

Back to two days ago...

We spent most of our time there, lying on our back, staring at the river, just relaxing. We also enjoyed a nice, healthy lunch, that Clare had prepared for us, hours before.

After the lunch, I rested my head on Clare's lap,
while she repaired and upgraded my cap.

Or, to be more precise, she added a system with 3 clickey buttons to the cap, to replace the no longer clinging Velcro.

Later, at home, she cut two birds out of a piece of clothing that the two of us had bought, weeks ago, at the 50 cents stall in Guardia Sanframondi ( the city where Clare lived for 15 years, uptill recently ).

and attached/sewed that on my cap.

It might have been a bit of a quickie, especially compared to her usual needleworking, but I do like the result quite a lot.

Not only do I love birds, this sure is a serious upgrade to an otherwise boring, green cap.

This is how it looked before, balanced on Clare's knee

( which is the title of a French movie from 1970, that I was reminded of when Clare fell on her knee and hurt it. This happened on our second day together ( a month and a half ago ).

Anyhow, I am tired and Clare has just started a fire. We are about to watch a movie together and settle in/get cosy for the night.

I will end it with a final picture of my chest hair and swimming pants, where I am 'coincidentally' donning my pimped cap, needleworked with love by the woman of my dreams, who has recently become the woman of my reality.
