Harvesting blackberries, meeting super cute horses, and harvesting one of my favorite wild weeds for lunch ... here is a snapshot in some of the activities I get up to on the old farm where we live.
My goal with this short is to show how simple my homesteading life really is. I don't have dozens of chickens or a market garden, though in the past and future I have/will. At the moment I gather berries, herbs, and weeds and take care of the animals that live here too. This is all to say that homesteading can look so many different ways, this is simply how I am homesteading right now.

Due to the abbreviated length of this video, I wasn't able to really get into what it is I do with the Spanish Needles (also known as Farmer's Friend). These leaves are super nutritious and best collected during spring and early summer when they are still tender. I first learned about this herb in a protocol for de-parasiting the gut naturally, and so I most often use the leaves in a herbal/medicinal pesto alongside other herbs:
My herby pestos include whatever culinary herbs that are abundant in the garden at the moment. Besides the spanish needles I collect another bowl of sage, rosemary, basil, and epazote. All of these herbs have digestive properties and some natural de-parasiting abilities too.
Yesterday we didn't have electricity so instead of using a blender or food processer I simply chopping up the herbs as finely as I could with a knife, added olive oil, vinegar and salt and ...
... here it is, a small dose of medicine to liven up our lunch! Of course each person was free to add more from a small bowl on the table too.
