A native's abilities can surprise you 🌬

Good morning hive! Freaking Monday here. Enjoy :)

Today I'm going to share something funny and interesting. As a surfer and co-founder of Airdrop Culture, I support surfer Hizunome Bettero, and it's always good to see how older surfers, OG's like Hizu are connected with their home, proving to have synergy with the waves as well as the biome in general.

I hope you enjoy this sequence of images that gave people something to talk about recorded by @photosurf_japa Last week that kind of thing happened that doesn't happen that often, to be more precise, that rarely happens.

It was in the Ubatuba region, northshore of São Paulo, that surfer Hizunome Bettero managed to achieve the feat of catching a fish while it was leaving the wave.

All the delirium of the surfer himself, as well as the people who were present at the peak, life guards, surfers and photographers.

The ubatuba region is rich in marine animals and fish. There is a large fishing community. They are "Caiçara"

Caiçara is the name given to the traditional population of the coasts of São Paulo and Paraná and the regions of Paraty and Angra dos Reis, formed by the mixture of indigenous people, Portuguese and African slaves. These people have as part of their culture artisanal fishing, cultivation of small fields, hunting, plant extraction and handicrafts. More recently, many caiçara communities have opened up to ecotourism.

Caiçaras are considered "one of the last visible traces of the moment of creation of the Brazilian people". In 2007, traditional peoples were officially recognized by the Government of Brazil, as part of the policy of sustainable development of traditional communities.

The term "caiçara" originates from the Tupi term caá-içara, which was used to name the stakes placed around the tabas or villages, and the corral (trap) made of tree branches stuck in the water to surround the fish.

The Caiçara community was formed by the mixture of indigenous, Portuguese and black populations, mainly quilombolas. These coastal people remained isolated for centuries on a narrow strip of land between the ocean and Serra do Mar, which allowed the preservation of their culture.

Yes, it was exactly like the photos above that this story happened. Hizu was surfing at Felix beach, the famous tubular triangle, perfect for aerials, when the wave showed that it was going to close... so, "let's come out on top" and for some reason, usually fish, dolphins are happy with fins colorful, like blooming green and accompany the surfers, now jumping next to the surfer and being captured, I confess that it's something I've never seen before.

Hizunome is an old surfer from Brazil, with 37 years and countless achievements, having him using ARDRP products and breaking the ditch is something that inspires us to work and surf, however seeing rich, unprecedented situations in nature like this are things that really make difference.

I hope you enjoyed this crazy sequence of photography on the coast of Serra do Mar, Sao Paulo Brazil last week, when the swells started to really hit. Until next time,

surfing is for everyone.
