I propose we do presentation posts for epic waves we have around home, so everyone gets to know more waves and whoever surfs there. For these kind of posts, when we're introducing a spot in gerenal, I suggest we use the #newwave hashtag, let me know what you guys think.

Today I'm gonna be talking a bit more about one of my favourite waves around home, one that I've been surfing since I was 16.
It's name is SHARP - and it lives up to its name.
It is a quick, shallow and strong righthander that can be fun offering good ramps on a smaller day, or a massive gnarly cave on bigger days.
This is a good example to show how quick this wave changes, one thing I like to say about Sharp is "you only know after you go", for real. You might drop into a 6ft good looking wave and end up on a cave with a lip 1 meter thick. 😂
If you make the drop all the way from the back, there's a side wave that helps you doing the bottom turn on time (like in the last sequence), but if you don't, there's a big chance of falling all the way from the roof.
The real danger comes right after that, on the 2nd session there's a big round reef that is reeeally shallow (sometimes it shows up hahaha), and if you miss the drop you might get smashed right upon that section of the reef.
The last picture shows how shallow it gets and how the wave becomes really deformed sometimes, making it really hard to stay in control and come out of the barrel.
On the shots bellow you can notice more clearly how the side wave comes (almost making the wave look like a pyramid) and later on the second section after it reaches shallow reef how negative the wave gets.

When the wave comes longer, it streches all the way to the end of the reef and if you can't make it you'll stay underwater for quite sometime 😵 as the reef is not like a table, but completely irregular, there are lots of currents bellow the surface, and usually when it's a heavy wave you'll be dragged all around.

That's it guys, I hope y'all liked it. Sharp is really one of the waves I like to surf most, it's located few minutes from home, it has big days, fun days, blue water, brown water, anyway you like it. It did gave me some scars and scary moments buut, gotta pay to play, isn't?! 🤷♂

Wow - that looks super gnarly!! Are all of the normal waves in Brazil too crowded or something? Hahaha!
We definitely do have some shallow waves in South Africa that are best suited to bodyboarding. I do have a bodyboard in my collection and should give it more love!
I like the #newwave concept, but usually when I've posted on HIVE, I've only named the very well-known spots and just given rough clues as to where the others are... I hope that's okay! Anyone who comes to Cape Town, South Africa from Surf Hive must just let me know if they want a tour! :)
I'd say they're ok if you compare it to Australia or Hawaii for example. But there's definitely the ones that are more crowded, usually those considered "surf capitals" like maresias, florianópolis, garopaba, etc.
I think that fits perfectly @jasperdick, some waves are kept more secret by the locals and that's sure one rule to follow when posting them on social media. Maybe avoiding showing its accurate location, name or so.
For me the most important are the pictures ahaha And also, its not everybody that wants to paddle 2km into the sea to surf a shallow reefbreak when its big, so that kinda keeps the bigger crowd away.
Me and my friends are locals on these waves I present and we love to share it with old and new friends, so we're constantly taking new friends to check these out! Anyone here on the community who's down, just let me know! 🤙
2km!!! Hahaha - I remember paddling about 600m to one of our outer reefs and wishing I could stop for a smoke break halfway, and I don't even smoke!
PS. I nearly missed seeing your post on time - I'm going to add you to favourites but you better post some more! Hahaha!
2km is about a 40/45 minute paddle, but nowadays we have Jet skis, so we get there quick 🙌
ahahaha I don't post here everyday, but I try to at least make some of these more dense posts, with a narrative and something like that every other day. There's also the fact that when it comes to surf, its not every day we're able to create content. Anyhow, I'm always around on the comments ahaha

Jezzzz this wave is gnarly bro! I went there surfing one day when it was small in D2, Breno put me in a wave and it's a heavy one, even when it's small - imagine this size you're paddling! great airdrop by the way! keep posting this amazing footage about slabs - they look awesome!
