Today I wasn't real sure what I was going to write about. All I seem to hear about here is the upcoming election tomorrow, so the last thing I would want to share it anything about that. So today I decided to go with something happier, and what could be happier than toys? In this my case today, some more LEGOs!
A while back I stumbled on an article about rare LEGO mini-figures. This one is Star Wars related as well but made of solid 14 K gold. I wish I owned it, but it was a special giveaway at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. This Boba Fett mini-figure is worth in excess of $20,000 and there were only ever two produced. Wouldn't it be fun to find one of these?

It came like this from what I understood, what a cool thing to win just for going to Comic-Con?
And for those unfamiliar with the character Boba Fett, he was the bounty hunter in "The Empire Strikes Back" who is after Han Solo. They since have made a Disney series about him on Disney+ just one or two years ago if I recall correctly. Here's a picture to jog your memory (add it's some great artwork):
I have been working on and off a some LEGOs I had purchased at a thrift store not too far from here a couple months back. It has already more than paid for itself in mini-figure sales, but now I started to work through some of the sets in the bins of parts. There several instruction books that came in the bins, so I pulled out one that looked promising because it's Star Wars related. They always seem to sell well.
The set I put together was based on the planet Endor in the movie "Return of the Jedi". Part of the set were some Ewoks I shared previously, but here are a few more of the mini-figures that go with the set. You got Han Solo, R2-D2, Chewbacca, a rebel trooper and and Imperial mini-figure in the black.
The set came with a catapult the Ewoks used to attack the Empire forces, it took a while but I found all of the pieces.
This one is really cool, one of the Empire walkers. It was a lot of fun to put together once I pulled out all of the right parts. On the instruction book cover Chewbacca is inside the vehicle after stealing it from it's owner, so there he is in the second picture below.
Then I put together some speeder bikes along with the Imperial scout troopers that are supposed to ride them. These are pretty awesome too!
And then there was a bunker that came with the set. It was hard to find all of the parts to put it together. At the very end of the process one part was missing. If you look at the picture below you see three orange cones, there are supposed to be four. I'm going to have to go ahead and replace it because the set is probably worth about $150. Not too bad for old LEGOs! And I still have a bunch more sets to dig through in the bins I purchased.
And a few more views of the bunker. I'm going to have to find a bigger background to take the final eBay pictures. I took some shots and cropped out the edges because it's bigger than my usual background plates I use to take pictures to sell my LEGO items.
I'm really happy with this set, it's an older one and it's pretty valuable. It came with a lot of pieces and took about three hours to put it together. But I won't complain one bit, I'm making money by playing with toys! There really is a lot of money to be made if you can find the right LEGOs for cheap. I always check at thrift stores around once a week, most trips are a bust with nothing worth buying. Every now and again you get lucky. It may not be a solid gold LEGO, but they still can be valuable!
Next time you go to a thrift store make sure to check the toy isle for LEGOs, they often can be flipped for some nice profits. I find most movie franchise sets are a good bet, especially the older one. But be careful with Harry Potter, they can be very hard to sell! That will wrap up my post for the day, I hope you found the gold Boba Fett and my set interesting. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below, and have a great week everyone!

No luck with any Lego this week, but a 2 pounds of misc. copper coins for $9 on a lark and will be sorted out later and see what I got.
I wonder who is the lucky one to be able to collect them?
man 22K USD is a lot of money. I guess I can buy a good piece of land here in my place with only a piece of Lego. Woudl be such a big news for everyone around me if I have one of the two.

Menos mal que no tenias nada sobre que escribir.
I read until the last line and I realized that it is not only a great story, it is also a great fun because I also love to build legos, of course I don't have one but when I visit my nephews who live in another city, I always start building their legos because their dad doesn't have time, but that's another story.
Besides having fun, you also make a little profit with what you do, so it's a great combination of fun and money.

True. A lot of people have been talking about the US elections and maybe it was better not to dive into it. I wanted to talk about it today too as well as crypto, but I didn't. I feel that at thos point we're powerless as to what will happen.
3 hours coupling seems such a long time, but they all turned out very well. The 20k$ one is what still baffles me, although it looks unique, one wouldn't know it's so valuable and rare.
In Nigeria here we don't have collectibles as such or a market for them

It's not worth talking about elections, the whole thing just gives me a headache...
I figure that three hours spent on $150 profit is about $50 an hour. Not too bad. Nowhere near what I used to charge per hour when I was working but oh well. Life is full of small challenges... Collectible items from conventions like Comic-Con can be really expensive, not just LEGO. I personally have never gone to one but I know people who have and loved it, but it's expensive.
Too bad there isn't a market like that in Nigeria. At least there's crypto to use and make some income!
50$ per hour that's graciously good even if it's not too much, it's honest work. Maybe someday you can save enough to go to one of these events and maybe who knows? You can get some really good gems that can bring in some decent money
I'm not sure I would have the energy to go to something like that. People dress up in all sorts of costumes and make a big deal about it.
Lego seem like a promising update. Thanks for sharing.
pretty cool! Is Lego the new gold? hehehe. My daughter is pretty interested in lego, I only don't buy until now because I predict tornados with the lego with the youngest one =(

That is a challenge when one child is much younger. The older builds it and the younger on destroys... Sibling rivalry at it's finest!

That AT-ST is pretty sweet! I wish they would have had more Star Wars Lego stuff when I was younger. I probably would have asked for it every holiday. I saw the other day we are getting a Bricks and Minifigs store in the town where I grew up. Apparently it is a national chain.
I know what you mean! They didn't start making that stuff until 1999, way after we were kids for sure... Some of those early sets go for really big money if they're new in the original box. I've not heard of Bricks and Minifigs, they must do well if they're spreading cross country!
Yeah, the town where I grew up is pretty uppity, lots of money to spend there... It's probably better I was older. I needed my paychecks for other things.
This is the first I have heard of this 14K Boba Fett, beautiful my friend!
I’m sure anything Star Wars, especially the Empire strikes back will continue to grow in value !😇👍😊
They've made special pieces over the years, there's even one carved out of wood for a movie they made that's worth a fortune since they only made one!
I wonder who the owner of that one wooden piece is??
Scarcity plus demand, a very valuable Lego!!👍😀
No idea, but it's values over $100K
