MONOMAD : DIGITAL NOISE // Ruido digital [ENG-ESP]
I like the sound of that, even though some people don't like to see it in their images. Well, digital noise is produced when we take a picture in a low light environment with high ISO values. This causes the sensor cells to become more photosensitive and "exposed" in our image. We lose sharpness, but we gain in freezing a memory. Sometimes you can't have everything, right? Here is a test I did using the most extreme ISO values of my Canon EOS Rebel t3i camera. I took the same image at ISO 100 and ISO 6400 to see the difference. Notice the noise.
