MONOMAD CHALLENGE : The street owners [ENG-ESP]

Crossing familiar streets, riding a bicycle down the avenue, walking sidewalks for the first time? At any of these moments we may encounter watchful canines. They may choose to ignore us or perhaps chase us with their watchful eyes, saying something like: "Who are you? What are you doing here? " They are the owners of the street.

When I observe one of these quadrupeds in one of the strategic points they choose to rest or watch, I think I must approach in such a way that he does not feel that I am a threat, and stay where he is, and thus capture the image that I started to imagine in my head. I usually have to lean or crouch down to get the angle that favors him, which is strange to the canine and sometimes he turns to look at me with some curiosity, like: "What are you doing human? " But if I can get close and he goes about his own business, I am more likely to achieve the expected product.

It's a challenge when there are several of them, because it's enough for just one of them to get rowdy, start barking at me and provoke the others. However, many of them are "stabilized". I don't know if that's the right term, but by that I mean they tend to keep their cool while exercising caution. They tend to get along well with other dogs, distinguishing when humans are not a threat and when one of them is crossing the line. When they are like this, it is easier for them to maintain their posture while your shutter opens and closes rapidly.

👆This last one I had to ask permission from its owner. We were walking after a comforting day of volunteer work and from afar I saw this specimen sitting quietly in front of the human that serves as his companion, looking at both sides of the street, turning his head like a fan. I stopped and after asking for his name I asked his permission to photograph his pet. He didn't seem to mind either and went about his business.

Where do you think I was when I took this picture? 👆 In the middle of the street! Literally... While looking for some open shops in the middle of the day, I noticed this pack of dogs resting in the shadow of this building. So I stopped and looked to the side. As there were no cars coming towards me, I turned around, stopped in front of them, took out my cell phone and took this picture leaning over.

Some of these canines transmit an enviable tranquility and calmness, something that some of us can only achieve when we are asleep. And just as you don't like to be disturbed when you're sleeping, it's best to leave them alone. Don't disturb the owners of the street.
