Working with girls approaching 15 years old is not always easy. Some face pressure from their parents to have photos taken, or because they weren't in the mood that day, or because they would rather be somewhere else than putting on makeup and dressing like damsels in distress. Some start out shy, and then, as the day has progressed and several changes of clothes and locations have taken place, they understand and capture the vibe of the moment. We (the makeup artist and I) do everything to make them have a pleasant experience, we tell jokes and maintain a cordial tone to alleviate those pressures. This princess that I show you didn't used to laugh a lot in front of the camera. She laughed at our jokes but when she entered the proposed pose, she became an iron lady. But I understand perfectly because my daughter does the same, they prefer seriousness on their faces at the moment of the photo even though seconds later they release the pressure by smiling and even singing. Trabajar con chicas que se acercan a sus 15 años no siempre es fácil. Algunas se enfrentan a la presión de sus padres por que se hagan las fotos, o porque ese día no estaban de humor, o porque preferían estar en otro lugar en vez de maquillarse y vestirse como damiselas en peligro. Algunas comienzan con timidez, y luego, cuando el día ha avanzado y han pasado varios cambios de ropas y locaciones, es que comprenden y captan la vibra del momento. Nosotros (la maquillista y yo) hacemos de todo para que pasen una experiencia agradable, contamos chistes y mantenemos un tono cordial para aliviar esas presiones. Esta princesa que les muestro no solía reír mucho frente a la cámara. Reía de nuestros chistes pero cuando entraba en la pose propuesta, se volvía una dama de hierro. Pero la comprendo perfectamente porque mi hija hace igual, prefieren la seriedad en sus rostros en el momento de la foto aunque segundos después liberen la presión sonriendo y hasta cantando.
