Hello everyone, how are you today?
A few months ago I started a photography project where I take pictures of emblematic and important places in my region. In this case, I come to show you this beautiful cathedral that, unfortunately, is in a very bad state due to lack of maintenance, but even so, you can still appreciate the structural gem that it is.
Let me tell you a little bit about its history through the years:
It was built throughout the 19th century, presenting a Neocolonial style, something that can be seen on the facade, where it shares prominence with elements of Tuscan architecture. This cathedral houses the graves of several bishops who were of great importance in their time.
At the end of the 19th century, it was seriously affected by an earthquake, and it was not until the 20th century that its construction was completed. This space remained unchanged - structurally - even after the remodeling work on the cathedral church. These were carried out between 1960 and 1961 on the occasion of the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the city of San Cristóbal, and they gave the entire structure its current colonial-era appearance. Everything, according to the design of the architect Graziano Gasparini, professor of pre-Columbian and colonial architecture at the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the Central University of Venezuela, and director of the works.
I hope you can enjoy these photos of the place.
Very nice photos, great framing and detail recording... Perhaps (from my particular point of view) increasing the level of contrast in your editing process will result in a very noticeable improvement in the visual impact achieved by photos like these... Thanks for sharing @acxel-pic!
