Today I want to enter the #monomad challenge with this picture of a French water cannon wagon - I hope you like it ^^
Water Cannon of the French Police
When I visited Paris a few years ago for new year's eye, I saw this Water Cannon vehicle at Champs-Élysées, that I am showing to you here. It is one of the famous landmarks of Paris and the place where people meet on New Years Eve for celebration, but also for a yearly protest 🙂
The vehicle belongs to the French police department in Paris, the "Préfecture de Police Paris", and is commonly used to wash away protesters on a regular basis. In my case it were some anti-racism protesters on New Year's Eve, but nowadays, it also includes all the corona protesters that plop out everywhere in the countries of the earth like mushrooms in a forest ^^ .. If you are interested in more detail, you can find it here: Water Cannon Specifications .. I actually saw it in action, as the protests broke out directly at Champs de Elise and got quite violent. French people really know how to protest 😂
The Water Cannon is able to host the following operating resources:
- Water : 12000 L
- Foaming Agent : 200 L
- Tear Gas : 60 L
- Stain / Tracer : 50 L
The Water is usually used against protester to just wash them away with single high pressure shots and it features the most common usage of this vehicle that made it world-famous. Thereby, 12000 L are enough to defend against hordes of angry people. Far more interesting is the reservoir of 60 L tear gas. If this is used in action, whole squares can be flooded. I hope to never experience it by myself and that it is used only rarely in Paris, as it also affects people in their houses and every person, even just passengers. I assume that people living in Paris, close all their windows on these days out of routine already 😆 .. I once worked witch lacrimators in the chemistry lab and know that it's no fund at all. 60 L is really a lot. What I also find fascinating is the reservoir of stain and tracers of 50 L. This sounds very useful if one needs to mark a certain group of people that should be easily found and beat into arrest cells by foot troops later on.
Where Did That Came From ?
The next picture shows the lightening of a firecracker to support the anti-racism protest. It is of course not me, as these are forbidden on New Year's Eve for a while already and I would never do such things .. I don't know how this picture appeared on my camera .. Must have been magic, or someone took my camera to make that one while I watched somewhere else 😜

In general, the contest is still running, but it's on hold at the moment .. I relocated from Germany to Switzerland in the beginning of the year and was too busy for the first three weeks .. I am posting about since a week again, but beginning from next week, my new job will start, which keeps me super busy again for at least two to three weeks .. Thus, I put a hold in the Amazing Nature contest for January and February 😉 ..
But it will be back in March again, when we have a whole family routine again ^^ .. Until that, you are free to participate in the Challenge by @bucipuci .. or have to save on your entries for a month longer 😁 .. I stated it in DNA discord, and write it in my private blog, but maybe I should have made an public announcement too 😜
By the way, thank you very much for asking, I take it as a compliment for the contest ^^
