Here are some macro shots I'll be trying to post for the current #monomad challenge.
Polyporus meridionalis looks exactly like a concrete nail stuck to the wood. This is a hard-textured mushroom with a porous underside of the cap that belongs to the family Polyporaceae.
This one is Calyptella capula ; we commonly refer to it as the jasmine mushroom because it is so similar. The fungus is white and translucent, and it frequently grows on small, rotting twigs.
