Monomad: Dance on the Muddy Sand

I captured a romantic scene this afternoon on the shores of the Meuraksa estuary. As the wind blew gently, I noticed a male fiddler crab waving his large claw several times. Then I realized it was a signal; this guy was calling his mate.

Just a few seconds later, the one he was calling came over. It was a female with a pair of small claws.

At first, I thought the male was trying to seduce the female into mating. But unexpectedly, he wanted to invite his mate to dance happily.

The music was played, and both of them did several movements simultaneously. It was a beautiful dance performed on the muddy sand. My eyes were beaming watching them. I smiled, and I wanted to hug them after the dance was over. If only I could?!
