This is my entry for the #monomad challenge
I gathered more pictures I took of animals around the world and edited them in Black and White. Animals are in some cases difficult to photograph since they don't behave like human models, but when you get them staring at the camera pictures and looking like models, the results are amazing.
This first picture I bring you is actually my favourite picture. Not only because it is beautiful but also because it took me quite a long time to get. This is an animal called quokka, only found in Rottnest Island, Western Australia. Once you are there you find them almost everywhere, specially in crowded areas where they try to get some leftovers. They are known for being a funny animal since sometimes they seem they are smiling. The truth is that this picture took me like around 30 minutes laying down on the floor. Although I got some very nice shots, I don't know why, I still wasn't happy. Then, this quokka started to drool while eating and suddenly it looked at my camera. Wow! I thought. It seemed that it did it just on purpose, for me. It saw my perseverance and decided to award me for it.
This is another "award" I received from an animal. This time in Nara, Japan. It is easy to get a picture of deers in this Japanese town as they are everywhere walking around. But what made this picture so special was the temple behind and obviously the pose the deer was giving me.
And in black and white it looks just incredible.
Another peculiar Australian animal is the wallaby. They are very similar to kangaroos, only way shorter, so they look like baby kangaroos. They might become a bit difficult to photograph since they are not very sociable. But the trick of bringing a carrot with you works very good!
Here if it was't for the carrot I would't have caught it looking at the camera. I was holding my camera with one hand and at the same time lifting a piece of carrot on top of it. Definitely a hard one, but it was worth it!
For this last picture I didn't have to go very far. It is actually my brother's cat Leo. With this picture I want to show you that you don't need to travel very far to get beautiful shots, it's your camera and imagination what you need to take beyond.
