Ragogna Castle - my entry for the #monomad challenge

in Black And White3 years ago

I recently visited the castle of Ragogna, a town located in the Friulian foothills (North East Italy).

It has Roman origins, "Castrum Reuniae", and had the function of defending the road that led to Norico. Over the centuries, from the sixth to the eighteenth, it has seen the succession of different properties: families of German origins, the Patriarchate and the Republic of Venice up to the transfer to the Municipality. It has recently been recovered and restored after a long period of neglect.

In this short collection there is the castle, the landscape ... and the visitors!
