This was my Disneyland, miracles happened here in the eyes of one child.
Our old barn is now storage for random totally useless and less useless stuffs.
There were cows here, and the calves were placed near them.
I loved feeding my newborn calves with milk, since mommy cow was often nervous and in pain.
As a kid (guess it's a consequence of too many cartoons), I was convinced that animals are able to talk, especially on the Xmas eve.
As I have always been awaiting Christmas and midnight awake, I would regularly sneak out of the house, go to the barn and spy on the animals, waiting for them to speak.
How silly a child's mind can be?
Once I drag to the house two just born lambs, it was cold winter and I thought they will freeze themselves, so I placed them in front of the fire, tucked them in a blanket and went back to sleep.
Don't ask what my parents have to say about it, getting up in the morning seeing two clumsy lambs roaming around the living room.
This chatterbox has greeted me, it’s huge and it looks dangerous.
She grunted all the time, like she is talking to me, but when she approached to the gate and started to kick them with the snout I run away - no kidding with this one.
We had it all, chickens, pigs, cows, sheep and once we had goats until they ruined the whole orchard.
Today is a Xmas day, probably I will wait for the midnight to come, but this time there is no point of visiting the barn as Miss. Piggy and I already had shortly chitchat today.
We are not hardened traditionalists, we contained a couple of customs that pleased us, like bringing Yule log in the house along with straw.
After all, all our customs are based on Paganism, but family gathering around the table no matter what is on it, that is the point of everything.
Was hoping for some extra amount of snowflakes today, but all I got is rain.
Thank you @monochromes, this is my entry for the #monomad challenge, and thank you all for your time and interest in what I do 🙌
🎄
Your last image is quite compelling. Those water drops from a pipe are captured perfectly!
Good luck with the challenge!
Cheers!
Drops are always challenging for photographing, but after few attempts... 😂
Thank you very much!
