As you may know, Istanbul is a city famous for its stray cats. In fact, not only in Istanbul but also in many cities in Turkey, you can see tame cats making friends with humans on the streets of their districts. Cats are an indispensable part of this city. According to research, it is said that 125 thousand cats live in Istanbul. In this post I will show you the cats in my new neighborhood. Let's continue with this black cat. You know, superstitious people think that a black cat is bad luck. Believe me, I am very surprised, how can a kitty like this bring bad luck?

I like the shadow cast on the asphalt by this cat walking nobly at sunset. I wish I had taken the same shot horizontally.

This cat also likes to walk on the beach, whenever I see him he always hangs out by the sea. He is carefully examining the sea, I think he noticed some sea creatures.

Two rascals trying to escape from prison. You only need to say "pss pss" in a very low voice for them to come running to you. At first they thought I was going to feed them, but they really liked being patted on the head and petted.

This cat, whose expression resembles that of a disgruntled and grumpy old man, may have woken up early or received bad news, who knows?

Finally, although I have only spent two weeks in my new neighborhood, I am very happy here and I feel that I will be happy here. I see lots of cats, dogs and birds on my walks. It gives me peace. And I will continue to take lots of photos during my walks and share them with you.
Stay with art and love 🌼🖤

Thank You very much for participating and for being part of the Black And White Community!

Exceptional quality of images, loved to watch them. (Not mentioning I am a big fan of cats).

i appreciate your kind comment x-rain. i hope you get a chance to visit turkey one day. it feels good to spend some time with these lovely creatures, it's like therapy :)

I've visited Turkey, loved the experience! Istanbul is one of the top destination in the world. My bus trip to the east: Urfa, Diyarbakir, Mardin, Trabzon in 2012 (or so) was fantastic. I would be happy to return and re-visit all the places. I know there are many more cities to visit... Really want to add Erzurum to my list and the western part of Black Sea coast of Turkey, to the west from Sinop (don't ask why, I've spent hours researching this region on Google.maps - maybe I lived the previous life there? 😀)

Well, that's wonderful to hear that you visited my country :)

Except Urfa, I have been to Diyarbakır, Mardin and Trabzon. For my photography and video profession :) Really nice places. Although Mardin and Diyarbakir were interesting in terms of history, Trabzon's nature was amazing. Especially the mountains and forests. I was also in Sinop for a short time, about 4 days. It was very enjoyable to watch the city and the Black Sea from Sinop Castle. It is also an incredibly slow city. The streets were very safe. I saw that there was no one inside the shops with open doors. In the past, it used to have a more provincial atmosphere, but recently it has become a place where young people are also popular and cultural events are organized for the last 10-15 years.

But I don't want to lie, Erzurum does not interest me at all. It doesn't seem to be a problem if I leave this life without seeing it :)

Erzurum

Maybe, you had seen a lot in Turkey, so Erzurum could add nothing to that. :)

Sinop

I guess places to the west of this town are even quieter. Amasra is sort of famous there and Zolguldak has some industry (as I remember from some maps), the rest territory of that area is just "empty". I hope to find some Black Sea vibes there, vibes of the old times... I don't know. But it's not about today or tomorrow, I am in Southeast Asia (for 1.5 year) and have no plan to leave yet. :)

Great cat portraits @altor friend!

The black and white captures so much beauty of these adorable kittens, although some photos have evoked a bit of sadness in me

yes I agree with you, black and white photos add a strange melancholy no matter what we see in the frame
