Museums are synonymous with the past and it is very suitable when displayed in the form of black and white photography. When visiting the Aceh Museum in Banda Aceh City, Indonesia, I immediately thought of displaying the photos in it in black and white frames to make it more impressive of the past.

The #monomad photos will always look exotic.

I visited the Aceh Museum not at the right time so there were not many visitors. However, it actually gave me a wide opportunity to photograph various objects in it without any obstacles. Usually, when photographing in the middle of visitors passing by, it will disturb the photo object, or the photographer must be more patient so as not to miss the moment. When photographing in a limited time like me, that condition is very unpleasant.

I didn't have much time because I visited the Aceh Museum while attending an event in Banda Aceh City. However, one and a half hours was enough to capture the beauty of the traditional houses of the Acehnese people, complete with various ornaments and equipment inside.

The traditional Acehnese house is a stilt house with many supporting pillars made of wood. It turned out that when the earthquake and tsunami hit on December 26, 2004, it was proven that the traditional Acehnese house was earthquake and tsunami resistant. Even though it was rocked by a powerful earthquake, no traditional Acehnese house collapsed. The stilt house was also safe from the tsunami.

In the past, the tall house with several steps also protected its occupants from the threat of wild animals.

But in the Aceh Museum, it's not just traditional Acehnese houses. Many tools from the past are still used by the Acehnese people in rural areas today. One of them is the kroong which is made of woven bamboo. Kroong is a traditional place to store rice.

Usually, kroong is located under the traditional Acehnese house. After the harvest, people store rice in the kroong. This rice storage is to protect the harvest that failed due to various reasons, such as natural disasters or the wrong season. Rice seeds for the next planting season are also stored in the kroong.

The young generation of Aceh today does not know much about kroong, they can't even pronounce it correctly.

In addition to the kroong, at the Aceh Museum visitors can also see the Cakradonya bell. This is a giant bell given by Admiral Cheng Ho in the form of a stupa. The Cakradonya was made in China in 1409 which became a symbol of friendship between China and the Aceh Kingdom.

The Cakradonya bell is not beautiful when photographed in a landscape position, but must be portrait. I asked a friend to take a picture of myself with the Cakradonya bell in the background.

Thank you for your support for my posts this time, previous, and upcoming posts. I apologize, maybe some of the photos here have already appeared on friends' social media accounts, I don't know for sure. I just want to say that maybe not 100 percent of the photos here are exclusive.[]

Almost every time I go to Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh province, I always pass by the museum building. And I feel sorry for not having the chance to visit and see the museum directly. up close. I salute you @ayijufridar who has a lot of activities but can take the time to visit

previously I also never stopped by the Aceh Museum located in Banda Aceh. One day, I tried to go to the museum even though my time was very limited. There are many interesting objects there.

I hope you can come to the Museum in Banda Aceh, including the tsunami museum which is the only one in Indonesia.
