Hello hiver
Hello everyone, how are you
I'm back with a black and white photo of me that you might like and this is my entry #monomad
When I visited a very beautiful island, namely Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, the island of Peaona, the nature, beaches and culture and the traditional art were truly amazing.
This time I went to a village of Sokong, Dusun Batu Ampar. Lombok Tinur. I was there to take a photo of the traditional music performance of Gendang Baleq.
Gendang beleq A traditional musical instrument owned by the community which was inherited by the ancestors of the Sasak tribe who lived on the island of Lombok.
This Baleq drum is made of large and light wood, such as a meranti tree, a kapok tree, then hollowed out in the form of a tube and attached with cowhide.
In Sasak language beleq means big. The beleq drum is so called because it has a large characteristic.
Beleq drums are played in groups.
The traditional music personnel of the drum beleq have dozens of personnel, namely two as drummers of the drum beleq,
there are those who play ceng-ceng, namely musical instruments made of steel such as discs, gong beaters, petuk players, and flute blowers.
Baleq drums were formerly used as an encouragement to war troops who would go to battle and as a welcome for troops returning from war.
now used as music to welcome guests, to cultural events in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
@flamego it's true this is a traditional event 😊
