Something I love about being around this town is the house of the poet José Antonio Ramos Sucre. It is the gathering place of people who like cultural activities and some of these are geared towards specific crowds. At the beginning of the month, we had a full week of activities regarding the horror genre. Since Halloween had just gone by and we had Día de los Muertos on the same row, it is fitting to throw some activities regarding these topics.
Starting a conference on Lovecraft and his influence over the genre and specially in Latin America. Then, going through the beginnings of zombies in pop culture and history.
To close it off, we had the wondrously spooky sister @adncabrera and @marlyncabrera give us an afternoon of horror stories written and read by themselves. Tagging along their efforts to scare the crowd, we had a zombie and an apparition sitting next to them. The atmosphere was fitting for a big scare jump, but we didn't have any. What we had was an amazing close of a frightening week with the grace of storytelling.
The effort on putting together the activity was commendable. And of course, loving this kind of photography, I couldn't help myself but taking some shots at the eerie table. The sisters of the wicked telling their tales. The zombie being held with rope to the chair. The apparition hovering over another chair. At the end, the claw that wanted to take the mic.
Black and white are interesting values to show something that is supposed to be scary. Wouldn't you agree?

Love it! Love your post and also loved the event. I missed reading stories--and now I miss writing them.
Your photos are so good. The totally captured the soft and mystic horror of the moment. Thank you so much; it's a gift in so many ways 😌
I always try to take photos during these events. Someone has to keep track of the spooky things happening at the house.
I'm sure Ramos Sucre was watching ☕
With a pipe in this hands waiting to strike down someone.

Una ambientación entre lugar y personas muy buena para la ocasión. Me encantó esta en particular. Abrazo!
