Hello there, black-and-white photography lovers!

This is a follow up on my previous post about making recycled paper. On the last day of the workshop we went around the tricks on how to dye your paper and achieve nice results. Besides, there were some other added materials to different kinds of papers that were made and left drying under the sun.

Yes, you cannot see the colors with this filter, but the texture of the paper comes to live.

There's a technique of using vegetal dyes and then getting something on top of the paper. The shape of the object doesn't matter. It has to be a detail you'd like. After soaking the paper in the dye, you leave to dry. Once the process is complete, the paper will have a different color and the object' shape will be imprinted onto it. It's a similar process to using invisible ink.

Details like this in paper can serve as a way of creating wrapping for gifts, making birthday or congratulation cards and among other things. Maybe making a notebook with some special details like someone's favorite flowers embedded in the pages. The possibilities are many. You just need to imagine it.

The best part of the experience is having something to do with all that paper that gets accumulated from many things in life. It could be old notebooks from school and college, books that are too old for re-binding, notes from old purchases, and any other piece of paper that has lost relevance over the years and is just stuck in a drawer gathering dust and attracting cockroaches.

Even when I'm not picking up the hobby of making paper, since I already have too many, it is interesting to explore the option of eco-friendly hobbies that might be of use in the future. I might try to create wrappers for many things. For now, enjoy some of the results from other participants.

For me, black and white photos are much better and more beautiful than color photos. When I was a child, there were no color photos and I would love to go back to that time again.

Black and white photos have a certain charm that's hard replicate. I love the texture it gives to things.
