This is my entry for the monomad challenge
The decoration of a place is one of the more interesting aspects of any restaurant or cafe. Depending on the general idea for clients, these details might be the magnet for your actual target and also work in fanor of the kind of people you don't want around.
That last bit is just especulation.
Pairing the environment with a good service and product is one of the keys of success. The rest is up to the having actual clients coming or some other kind of scheme going on.
Let's take, for example, this place called Zaituna. I visited it on my last trip to Caracas and even the facade of the cafe tells you it's fancy. Stepping inside confirms it. The attention of their waiters and the food are the final notes on it. Of course, it is located on one of the posh zones of the capital.
They have these shelves full of interesting items. There are some books about music and other gadgets, but the general idea is to keep some Arab essence in the aesthetics of the cafe.
And playing another important role on the visual are the desserts and pastries. They are absolutely gorgeous and you could spend quite some time just staring at them. But please don't! You might be asked to leave the establishment.
What are the things that call your attention when you get into an establishment? Or are you more of food person disregarding the looks of the place?
I wonder if people dare to find out if the food is actually good at a dirty or ugly place. A Biology professor once said during a class that the idea of looking for aesthetic and clean places is part of our evolution. He used the example of waterfalls and ponds. It makes a difference in how the water affects the body and whether you get sick or stay alive.
Restaurants and cafés don't work in the same way, but the idea is around there.

Wow, what a brilliant idea to combine a restaurant with a waterfall design. Cool
