To the truth I published in a few, wirestock, getty, shutter, adobe, freepic, dreamstime and 123rf, to the truth in all of these I have had better performance in hive😅😅😅😅
lol, I know!!! :-)
Kind of the same here, the difference between stock vs Hive is that I have a quite large library on stock (which is earning me waaaaay too little). Otherwise Hive would earn me more as well.
Another "advantage" of stock is that a picture of a year ago can still earn you an limitless amount (of pennies). On Hive it's done after 7 days (but often earns you much more on those 7 days than stock in 7 years).
Well, if the advantage is that by having so much content saved you have a lot of publications to do, I have only been in photography for 3 years for a total of more or less 500gb more or less in photos, my portfolio is not as big as yours, and how happy I am with hive is that it has allowed me better performance
I've only been in hive for more or less 5 months and I've gotten more results than all the portfolios in all the agencies combined😅😅😅😅
Yeah, building up on stock takes time, time, time and time :-) And a good (read: commercial) portfolio. That was the biggest mistake that I made with stock, I focused mainly on landscapes and such. It used to sell well, like +15yrs ago (+1000€ even for one pic!). Lately I've been focusing more on people content (like the series you have here), and that does work better these days ;-)
But if I would start with a new portfolio right now, my main focus would indeed be more on Hive then on stock...
If you're right, before I sold more, I really haven't been around for a long time. My main portfolio is in wirestock with only 1300 photos and in freepick with 1100 more or less in Adobe and others I have over 500 in each one and the truth is they don't even reach 3 dollars in two years, hahaha but nothing... what I like most about hive is that you create a story about your photos, and talk about them... you create a beautiful series of photos, defend them or simply comment on the story behind the story session and like it a lot and the truth is my content makes more sense this way, I also collaborate in pexels where a few days ago I managed to reach a million views and that was something quite good for me
Congrats on the pexels reach! I must admit I haven’t used it yet.
As for Hive, yeah, that’s also something I like about Hive, it’s more about the story and the art, less about being commercial, less “selling”
BTW: I've noticed some of your posts even reaching 20+$! That's indeed pretty amazing! I think I only reached that once so far...
I share in only two or three communities and I focus on content for them, it helps that sometimes I record in timelapse as I edit and I also share the content by integrating YouTube with my posts in hive
And it seems to work well!! 😉
Have you considered using 3speak (hive video platform) instead of YouTube? It might increase your return as well…
If you let me give you some advice, I see that sometimes you post only one photo per post, try to post 5 to 7 photos if you post in black and white, post in BW and in color because it's nice to see them both ways, comment on each photo or How did you prepare everything, that is to say, that the content is read in more than 4 min minimum and I think that with that you will have more results
Yeah, the big issue there is time… especially the last few weeks have been bad. But I still try to do at least the one daily picture 😉
Should put more time in again
