This is my entry to the #monomad challenge.
I find some form of mild irony in the idea of the moth which moves around at night in the luminous glow of a light source being viewed in a black-and-white tone. I feel that it brings the black of the night and the white glow of the light together in all of its physical representation.
Moths have been on my mind a lot lately. I guess that the power situation in South Africa has a lot to do with it, we have been enduring daily power cuts of up to 18 hours per day. This is due "load-shedding" system that has been put in place by the government to alleviate the power consumption on a grid that is currently unable to meet the basic demands of the country. So I can associate with the moth in the sense of fluttering towards the lights whenever we actually have power.
I wandered around trying to find some moths that managed to linger around after the sun came up, and managed to get a few shots that I thought brought a nice contrast to the table.
