Fishing For Help

img_0.23864631905223738.jpg

About a year ago I took a break from all social media but have since started using different platforms. I changed PC in that time and since then I have not been able to access my account via Peakd (using Hivesigner)

I have tried Active Key, posting key, owner key and backup password, but always get Invalid username or password response. I can use Ecency (via my phone) but cannot access Peakd.

Has anyone in Hive world got any suggestions. I have fired up my old PC in the hope that my log in credentials would have been retained. But unfortunately not.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated

Hi, great to see you back @brianbrogan1960!

Try to use Hive Keychain. It's a browser extension and It works really well. It's what most people are using these days.
As long as you have your keys you will be able to set it up in a blink of an eye.
Here's the link for the Chrome one. It's also available for Brave and Opera, depending on what you're using there.
Hope this helps and welcome back!

EDIT: Make sure you're using the private keys, and not the public ones that are displayed in your wallet, when trying to login.

Thank you, I will give it a try after work. Much appreciated

You're welcome.
Let us know if it solved the problem.

if your posting this.. your in arent you?

Not via Peakd mate, this post was via Ecency on my phone

dont bother with peakd then mate.. just use ecency.. you can you it all from there..

If you have the owner key and the username, you should have no problem recovering your old account. But as it is obvious that you already have it, it is possible that you are mistyping one of them.

To avoid this in the future, I recommend that you use a password manager to store all your logins, wallet address and passwords (1Password is a great option).

Hi, thanks. I have been copying and pasting. I will give the wallet a try if I get in, thanks for the advice

Your permissions or lesser keys haven't changed since June 2020 and your owner key hasn't changed since making the account, so if you still have those keys it shouldn't be an issue.

Monochromes' suggestion of using Keychain is a good idea. And using PeakLock to log in with your posting key makes it smoother to use. That way you only have to use Keychain to do active key transactions.

It's good to see you back!

Dear @brianbrogan1960, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got an important support from the community and is close to be funded. However, it misses a few votes to get past the return proposal and your could make the difference!

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work this year?
You can do it on Peakd, ecency,

Hive.blog / https://wallet.hive.blog/proposals
or using HiveSigner.

Thank you!
